When someone comes to Refuge of Hope for a hot meal and a place to rest, you can see right away that what they really need is hope. Losing a job and a home knocks people down, but losing hope keeps them there.
You may not realize it, but you help to restore hope every day, with every meal served.
Hundreds of men, women, and even children struggle to get through another day here in Stark County. A simple meal, served with compassion and dignity, gives them the hope they need to carry on. Let me share a few comments from people whose lives you’ve touched: “Refuge of Hope keeps you going forward one day at a time.” –Sonny “You’ve done so much for me!” –Rusty “You help people out and you’re very kind.” –Debra
Will you please help more of our hurting and hungry neighbors this Easter season?
A gift of $151 will provide a hot meal at ten tables in our dining room. $378 will feed all of our dinner guests!
Every meal you help us serve reassures our guests that someone cares for them. That’s so important, especially when they may be remembering happier Easters celebrated with loved ones in homes of their own. Your compassion also lets our guests know that the hope of Christ is available to them. Of course, that’s true all year long, but for me—and more importantly, for them—that message is especially poignant at Easter.
I thank you for all you do for hurting people in Stark County… and I wish you and your family all the joy and hope of this Easter season!
