Refuge of Hope’s shelter is much more than a place for homeless men to sleep at night.

It’s a support center in a safe environment where men can overcome the personal, economical, and societal issues that caused them to become homeless. Here, they receive meals, showers, laundry, and Christian counseling at no cost. It is the only men’s shelter of its kind in Stark County.

Our staff and volunteers provide a hand up, helping men realize that positive life changes are possible regardless of their current circumstances. We want them to experience the love of Jesus Christ and achieve the stability necessary to become independent and a positive contributor to our community.

I was treated with respect from the moment I arrived.

That made all the difference to me when I was already down on myself because of my circumstances. The place is clean, even smells clean. I had a bed, hot showers, plenty of food, and people who truly cared about me.”
