When someone is struggling with poverty and homelessness, their health and wellness often suffer.
Untreated or undiagnosed medical conditions may even be a root cause of their challenges.
Refuge of Hope partners with medical professionals to provide healthcare for those who need help. Our Community Care Center features a medical clinic with two exam rooms where Lifecare Family Health & Dental delivers free care.
Residents at Refuge of Hope are offered and encouraged to receive support for their mental health on site by HWS Best Health Counseling as well as partners nearby. They can also schedule appointments with Dr. Keefe, DDS, who volunteers his time to take care of their dental needs while staying at the shelter.
Along with our meal, shelter, and clothing ministries, our investment in healthcare means that we are better able to help our neighbors who are struggling to meet their basic needs.
