The Women’s Shelter Director will provide leadership, oversight, and daily management of Refuge of Hope’s Women’s Shelter. This role is responsible for creating a safe, structured, and restorative environment for women experiencing homelessness, while ensuring alignment with the mission, vision, and Christian values of Refuge of Hope Ministries. The Women’s Shelter Director will oversee shelter operations, staff supervision, program development, and guest care, with a focus on helping women move toward stability, healing, and independence. This role requires a strong balance of leadership, compassion, accountability, and operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership and Operations:
• Oversee all daily operations of the Women’s Shelter
• Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with applicable requirements

Staff Supervision:
• Hire, train, and supervise staff
• Provide coaching and leadership development
• Create staff schedules

Guest Care:
• Provide trauma informed, compassionate care
• Support pathways to housing and independence
• Manage conflict using de-escalation practices

Spiritual Integration:
• Promote a Christ-centered environment
• Encourage participation in devotions and spiritual growth

Administrative:
• Track key metrics and outcomes
• Assist with budget stewardship
• Provide reports to leadership

Special Requirements

Commitment to mission and values Experience with homelessness, addiction, or poverty preferred Ability to de-escalate conflict Valid driver’s license required

Required Education

High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
